Welcome to QuickApp User Guide!

QuickApp is one of the most fully-featured and capable development tools available for planners. When using applications developed with QuickApp, it is important to be able to use its capabilities effectively. Like any software product, there is of course a learning curve, but thanks to the intuitive features, extensive help documentation, tutorial videos, and customer support, we know you’ll learn fast.


With this User Guide, we want to help you quickly get started with your apps, by listing the most essential things you need to do to get up and running.

Download QuickApp Client & Install

When you become a QuickApp user, a welcome e-mail will be sent to your e-mail address you defined during sign-up, explaining what you need to do for an easy start. Please check your inbox and junk-mail box. At first, you need to install the QuickApp client on your computer to be able to use the QuickApp Apps. You can download the setup file using the link in the welcome email sent to you or by clicking here, then start simple installation wizard.

Installation Requirements:

  • Software: MS Excel 2016 or higher version must be installed.
  • Operating System: Windows required.
  • Disk Space: min. 500 MB preferred
  • CPU: 2.0 GHz preferred
  • RAM: 8 GB preferred

Connect to QuickApp

Immediately after installing QuickApp Client, you are required to create a connection with your account info. This allows you to develop/access QuickApp applications, and download automatic updates for QuickApp Client. To connect to QuickApp, you need the account information you provided when you signed up and the api-key that we send to your e-mail address. Access the Apps you are allowed

You can access the allowed apps from QuickApp Namespaces. To be able to access the Namespaces, Applications, and other QuickApp objects, you must have certain permissions. In Quickapp, permissions can be regulated only by QuickApp Admin and Security Admin. Therefore, you must have these privileges before you can view a QuickApp application on a Namespace. If you encounter viewing or opening any application, please ask your admin or security admin for permission.

Database permission

QuickApp Applications need data sources to read and/or write data. Saving data in QuickApp means processing it into the database. This is done with the Save button in the lower right corner of your app. However, in applications designed as auto-save, the data is automatically saved to the database as soon as it is entered into the cell. Excel is just an interface for QuickApp, so there is no need to save the file.

If any database is used in your application, you must have some permissions to access it. Permission processes are probably managed by an IT/BI/Database Administrator in your organization. If you have any problems reading or writing data in your application, please contact your database administrator for database access permission.
